One of the most popular Angkor temples - Ta Prohm. This temple was built in the memory of King Jayavarman VII's mother. When found by the French at the end of the 19th century, they deliberately left this temple in the same condition as it was found - overgrown by strangler fig and silk cotton trees. Ta Prohm's original name was Rajavihara - "the royal monastery". In the initial plan, 260 divinities were called for; many more were added later.
